No hangover for Tennessee after a pair of Top 15 wins last week.
No. 4 Tennessee hit the road and knocked off Oklahoma by a score of 70-52 on Saturday afternoon in Norman, OK. The Vols now have three straight wins in SEC play with a victory over No. 5 Florida last weekend, a win over No. 15 Missouri on Wednesday, and a win over Oklahoma on Saturday.
The eye-catching aspect of Tennessee’s victory on Saturday was the Vols’ 45-point first half. Tennessee was scorching hot shooting from the floor and added in suffocating defense to go along with it. The Vols kept the Sooners off-balanced throughout the entire first half with a 45-25 lead at halftime.
Tennessee hit the floor for the second half and kept everything rolling. Chaz Lanier put up a game-high 21 points while Zakai Zeigler nearly posted another triple-double with 17 points and nine rebounds.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes met with the media to discuss his reactions.
