More from RTI: Everything Tennessee HC Tony Vitello Said Following Run-Rule Win Over UNC Asheville
The defending NCAA Champions are off to a hot start despite the cold temperatures with a 4-0 start to the 2025 season. Tennessee has won all four of its contests in run-rule fashion, sweeping Hofstra with ease in a three-game series last weekend before a lopsided 29-4 midweek win over UNC Asheville on Tuesday.
As far as Tennessee’s pitching plan goes, it appears as though last weekend’s strategy will move into this weekend, as well. Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello implied on Tuesday that Liam Doyle will get the nod on Friday and Marcus Phillips will start things out on Saturday. Sunday’s starter has not been revealed quite yet.
