Tennessee and Texas A&M baseball will play a doubleheader on Saturday to complete their weekend series at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. First pitch for game one is set for 3 p.m. ET while fist pitch for game two is set for 7 p.m. ET. Both games will be nine innings.
The two teams were originally scheduled to play game two of the weekend series at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday night and game three at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. But forecasted inclement weather all day on Sunday led to the teams moving the Sunday game up to Saturday. First pitch for the weekend series is on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET.
It’s a rematch of last season’s College World Series final series where Tennessee beat Texas A&M in three games to clinch the first National Championship in program history.
In recent seasons, the national champions have struggled the ensuing season. But this year, it’s the runner-up Texas A&M that has been highly disappointing. Returning the core of last season’s team, Texas A&M was the consensus No. 1 team in the preseason.

Things quickly went sideways for the Aggies with early season losses to Cal State, Texas State, UTSA and New Mexico State. Texas A&M’s season went from bad-to-worse when SEC play started. Alabama swept the Aggies in the SEC opening series in College Station. Vanderbilt swept Texas A&M in Nashville while Kentucky won two out of three at Texas A&M last weekend.
Texas A&M enters the weekend with a 14-14 (1-8 SEC) record and is in a desperate need of wins if they’re going to get its season back on track.
Tennessee is off to a fantastic start to the season and enters the weekend series 27-2 (8-1 SEC). The Vols are the consensus No. 1 team in the country as they attempt to defend their college baseball crown.
The Vols and Aggies open up their weekend series at 7 p.m. ET on Friday night. ESPNU is broadcasting the game. The exact broadcast/streaming details for the Saturday doubleheader have yet to be released.
