Tennessee basketball’s roster is almost set for the 2025-26 season. The Vols currently have just one scholarship to work with and Rick Barnes has indicated that he plans to hold onto the scholarship for the time being.
After losing six scholarship seniors, Tennessee has had an abundance of roster turnover this offseason. The Vols signed five prep prospects and three players out of the transfer portal.
While it is a small transfer class, it is a strong one. Maryland point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie is one of the best overall players in the portal and comes to Tennessee after averaging 14.7 points and 4.8 assists per game as a Third Team All-Big 10 selection.
Vanderbilt power forward Jaylen Carey transferred across the state to Tennessee after averaging eight points and 5.7 rebounds per game coming off the bench for the Commodores first NCAA Tournament team in a number of years last offseason.
Lastly, Tennessee added Louisiana Tech shooting guard Amaree Abram. A two-way guard, Abram averaged 12.3 points, 4.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for the Bulldogs.
It’s a small transfer class but undoubtedly a good one. So where does it rank according to recruiting services? Taking a look here.
