Tennessee baseball picked up a stress-free 9-2 victory over Miami (OH) in game two of the Knoxville Regional Friday night. Liam Doyle overcame a choppy start and went on to deliver a standout 6.2-inning start in which he allowed just one run.
Tennessee’s offense scored seven runs in the third and fourth innings combined. All of the top six hitters in the Tennessee lineup tallied an RBI with Reese Chapman leading the way with three. Chapman was the lone Vol to homer.
With the win, Tennessee moves on in the winner’s bracket of the Regional and will face 3-seed Cincinnati at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
