Darmouth transfer shooting guard Ryan Cornish visited Tennessee basketball Monday, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported and a source confirmed to RTI.

Cornish arrived for his visit on Sunday night and is leaving Monday night as Tennessee continues to explore options for how to use its final available scholarship filling out its 2025-26 roster.

A grad transfer who played four years at Dartmouth, Cornish averaged 17.1 points on 41% shooting from the field and 37% shooting from three-point range on his way to earning First Team All-Ivy League honors a season ago. He added 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.

Cornish’s senior season was his breakout year. He had a solid sophomore season, averaging 12.5 points per game but injuries plagued his junior season and the Maryland native averaged just 6.9 points in just 14 games.

On3 ranks Cornish as a three-star transfer and the No. 498 player in the transfer portal this offseason. EvanMiya views him similarly, tabbing him as a three-star and the No. 488 player in the transfer portal.

With the scholarship limit still sitting at 13 for the time being, Tennessee has one scholarship to work with as it fills out its roster for next season. Shooting guard has been a position of uncertainty for Tennessee with the Vols missing out on Virginia’s Isaac McKneely and Maryland’s Rodney Rice.

The Vols ended up landing Louisiana Tech shooting guard Amaree Abram who averaged 12.3 points per game last season for the Bulldogs. Rick Barnes and his staff also signed prep shooting guard Amari Evans and French shooting guard Clarence Massamba at this point in time. They join Bishop Boswell as the players competing for minutes at shooting guard next season.

Tennessee’s newcomers arrived on campus last week to begin offseason workouts and Barnes’ 11th offseason in Knoxville.

Most publications view Tennessee as a top 25 team entering next season on the back of its returning front court and the additions of star transfer point guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie and five-star wing Nate Ament.
