The Atlanta Falcons made a huge splash in the 2025 NFL Draft by sacrificing future draft capital to acquire former Tennessee EDGE rusher James Pearce Jr. with the 26th overall pick last spring.
Atlanta went into the draft with the goal of bolstering its pass rushing unit and took strides in the department by taking George EDGE Jalon Walker and Pearce with two first-round draft picks.
On Tuesday, the Falcons’ social media team posted a picture of Pearce in his all-black home threads with the same No. 27 jersey that he wore during his time in Knoxville.

As teams go through rookie minicamps and OTAs this month, Sports Illustrated’s Daniel Flick posted a video of Pearce speaking with Falcons owner Arthur Blank during practice on Tuesday. Blank invested a lot in Pearce’s acquisition this past spring as excitement begins to build with what he could potentially bring to the table.
