Rutgers transfer right-handed pitcher Landon Mack is visiting Tennessee baseball Tuesday night, KnoxNews Mike Wilson first reported and a source confirmed to RTI.
Mack was a weekend starter for the Scarlett Knights a season ago, posting a 6-5 record, 4.03 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 80.1 innings pitched. He totaled 70 strikeouts for a 20% strikeout rate while posting a fantastic 4.9% walk rate.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound pitcher posted solid numbers in Big 10 play as well with a 4.74 ERA and 1.28 WHIP in a by far team-best 57 innings pitched
The Columbus, New Jersey native began the season as Rutgers’ Saturday starter before ending the season as its Friday starter.
As a rising sophomore who is still 19-years old, Mack has to spend two more seasons playing college baseball before he is eligible for the MLB Draft. Whoever lands the Rutgers transfer will have two years of a potential weekend starting pitcher.

Tennessee is in need of weekend starting pitching with ace Liam Doyle and Saturday starter Marcus Phillips both eligible for the 2025 MLB Draft and projected to be top three round picks. The Vols will also lose a number of key bullpen arms to professional baseball making pitching a priority for Tennessee in the portal this offseason.
Tony Vitello and his staff currently have three pitchers committed in the transfer portal including Big South Pitcher of the Year Clay Edmondson, Kennesaw State’s Bo Rhudy and MIT’s Mason Estrada. They’re also hosting SoCon Pitcher of the Year Brady Frederick on a visit Tuesday afternoon and are the favorites to land the Knoxville native.
