A year after making its return following an 11-year hiatus, EA College Football ’26 comes out this week as college football fans can once again play with their favorite teams in the EA video game.
James Pearce Jr, Cooper Mays, Dylan Sampson, Squirrel White and Nico Iamaleava were all highly rated players In EA College Football ’25. But with all off to the NFL or transferred away from Tennessee, who are the highest rated Vols in the latest rendition of the game?
We likely won’t know every player rating until the game comes out later this week, but Tennessee football released the ratings for its top players earlier this week and there are no major surprises.
Cornerback Jermod Mcoy is the highest rated Vol with a 94 overall rating. Following McCoy is tight end Miles Kitselman (90 overall), edge rusher Josh Josephs (89 overall), defensive back Boo Carter (87 overall), cornerback Rickey Gibson III (87 overall) and running back Star Thomas (87 overall).
McCoy is the highest rated cornerback and one of the 10 highest rated players in the game. He was a breakout star as a sophomore at Tennessee last season, totaling four interceptions on his way to earning All-SEC honors. While it doesn’t matter for the video game, McCoy tore his ACL back in January and could be slow out the gates in real life this season.

Josephs was Tennessee’s LEO counterpart with Pearce and will step into a bigger role this season with Pearce off to the NFL. Josephs totaled just 1.5 sacks last season but did total 39 tackles and was stout against the run.
Gibson and Carter joined McCoy as counterparts in Tennessee’s secondary. Gibson started at the opposite corner spot of McCoy and got better-and-better as the year went on, finishing the season with three pass deflections and 32 tackles. Carter flashed at the STAR spot, eventually winning the starting job. His punt returning skills are dynamic and the Chattanooga native could even play both ways this fall.
Thomas transferred to Tennessee from Duke this offseason after rushing for for 871 yards and seven touchdowns on 213 carries during the 2024 season with the Blue Devils. He’s split carries in the backfield with DeSean Bishop and Peyton Lewis.
