Former Tennessee Vols Jahmai Mashack and Zakai Zeigler added to their NBA Summer League highlight reels with some head-turning plays during Thursday’s slate of games.
The first came from Zeigler during Detroit’s 20-point win over the Miami Heat.
With time winding down in the first quarter, Zeigler hit the jets and went coast-to-coast. The Heat players looked clumsy and out of sorts as Zeigler weaved his way down the court and dashed right past the opposing defenders.
He didn’t have time to take it all the way to the hoop, so he ended up pulling out a high-arching finger-roll layup from deep.

Then, early in the fourth quarter, Zeigler pulled out a crazy assist with a pick-and-roll lob to Garrison Brooks from the top of the key. Zeigler’s pass was in perfect position for Brooks to throw down the far-hand, one-handed dunk on the Heat defender.

Zeigler finished the game with a bench-high 15 points on 3-of-7 shooting from the floor and 2-of-3 shooting from behind the arc. He also went 7-of-7 from the free-throw line with four assists and a +6 +/-.

Jahmai Mashack had a highlight of his own a little later in the afternoon, though.
With Memphis and Atlanta battling it out late in the fourth quarter, Mashack dropped a soul-taking one-handed dunk right in the middle of the paint.
He caught the pass in the corner, momentum already moving toward the basket, and rose up for the one-hand jam.
