Tennessee basketball is one of the final nine teams that one of the top power forwards in the country will be considering going forward.

Latrell Allmond, a four-star forward out of Richmond, Virginia, listed the Vols, Maryland, Indiana, Virginia, Arizona, Kansas, Michigan State, Miami and Oklahoma State as his top nine schools, according to Joe Tipton.

Allmond ranks as the No. 30 player in the country and No. 6 power forward, according to 247 composite rankings. He stands at 6-foot-8 and 225 pounds as a part of the 2026 class.

For his final season in his prep career, Allmond will play at Petersburg. This is a move from his time at John Marshall. At John Marshall, he was teammates with now Tennessee freshman point guard Troy Henderson. Other notable alumni from the school are Milton Bell, Fred Gantt, Dennis Parker Jr., Ed Sherod and Isaiah Todd.

Allmond posted a picture of himself in a Tennessee uniform, presumably on a visit to Knoxville, last summer. His post is dated Sept. 15, 2024. He initially picked up his offer from Rick Barnes and company on Aug. 22, 2022. This was one of the first big-time offers he received.

The Vols currently hold no commitments in the 2026 class. However, Tennessee is in the mix for a group of highly-rated recruits in the cycle. This includes Chris Washington Jr., Taylen Kinney and Bo Ogden, who all included the Vols in their top schools recently.

This offseason, UT did a great job of replenishing its roster, though. Including transfer portal additions of Ja’Kobi Gillespie, Jaylen Carey and Amaree Abram, Tennessee added foreign guards with professional experience in Ethan Burg and Clarence Massamba.

In the high school ranks, Rick Barnes landed five-star forward and No. 4 overall recruit Nate Ament. He joins four-star wing Amari Evans, three-star forward DeWayne Brown II and unranked point guard Henderson. Ament is also from the same area of Virginia as Allmond.

Returners include Felix Okpara, J.P. Estrella, Cade Phillips and Bishop Boswell.
