More From RTI: Former Lady Vols Basketball Star Wins WNBA Game With Buzzer Beater
The roster for the 3-on-3 basketball team included six players, five of whom are current NCAA players. Spearman joined Taylor Bigby (TCU), Joyce Edwards (South Carolina), MiLaysia Fulwiley (LSU) and Rachel Ullstrom (Richmond), along with Serena Sundell, who recently graduated from Kansas State.
The team was coached by Julia Ford. She was a coach at the 2025 USA Basketball 3×3 development camp in Phoenix in April. She currently serves as an assistant coach at Grand Canyon.
The format of the tournament consisted of a half-court game with a 10-minute game clock and a 12-second shot clock. The winning team is the first to 21 points or the team leading after the time expires.
Spearman is coming off her first season at Tennessee. She joined the program out of Miami in Kim Caldwell’s first season atop the program.
As a junior, she played in 34 games and started in 23. She averaged 11.7 points per game on 51.5% shooting from the field and 30% on 3-pointers. She also produced six rebounds and 0.8 assists per game. Each one of these marks is her career high.
Now, she is set to be one of the key returning pieces for the Lady Vols. She joins the likes of Ruby Whitehorn, Talaysia Cooper, Kaniya Boyd, Kaiya Wynn and Alyssa Latham as returners. Tennessee also adds Jersey Wolfenbarger, Nya Robertson and Janiah Barker through the transfer portal.
Caldwell signed the No. 2 high school class in the country, according to ESPNW, with the additions of Mia and Mya Pauldo, Jaida Civil, Deniya Prawl and Lauren Hurst, as well.
