Notable Participants, Inactives For Tennessee Football’s Tuesday Practice

Tennessee football WR Chris Brazzell (Ryan Sylvia | RTI)

Tennessee football’s participation during Tuesday morning’s practice featured some notable names on the field, along with some more players off to the side. In good news for the Vols, wide receiver Chris Brazzell joined UT for practice for the second day in a row. He remains limited in some ways, but was with the wide receivers during position group drills at the start of practice.

Brazzell missed the majority of fall camp before making a return to the practice field on Monday. During his first practice back in action, he ran abbreviated routes on air. He is dealing with a lower-body injury that has held him off the field to begin fall camp, with no clear timetable for a full return at this point.

Also of note, star cornerback Jermod McCoy continues to be a limited participant at practices. He is coming off an ACL injury suffered in the winter and was forced to sit out all of spring and most of the fall. He is far from 100% still, but is going through reps with cornerbacks while receiving no contact. He has no brace on his injured knee, but does sport a band below his knee.

Edge rusher Josh Josephs also returned to practice on Tuesday. He was a participant at the beginning of fall camp, but began to miss practices as the season drew closer. He seemed to be a full participant on Tuesday morning and worked with the LEOs.

Boo Carter also continues to be a full participant. After being forced to sit out the start of fall camp, he returned slowly to the practice field. On Tuesday, there didn’t seem to be any limitations in his participation as he worked with safeties and stars. He also got work in as a returner.

In bad news, slot receiver Braylon Staley remains off to the side and not participating. Sophomore wideout Mike Matthews was a participant, but sported a red non-contact jersey. Miles Kitselman, a tight end, is in a yellow jersey.

On defense, Colton Hood and Jeremiah Telander both wore yellow jerseys after wearing red ones on Monday. Rickey Gibson III continues to look like he’s back at full speed. Ty Redmond remains in a red jersey.
