As Kim Caldwell and Lady Vols basketball look to build off a successful first year on the recruiting trail, Tennessee has identified a top target for the 2027 class. According to Dushawn London of 247, UT will host 6-foot-3 center Eve Long for an unofficial visit on Sept. 13.
Long is a five-star prospect according to 247 composite rankings and the No. 11 player in the country. According to just 247’s rankings, she is the No. 7 prospect and No. 2 center in the class. She is from Olathe, Kansas, where she plays for Olathe South. She is the top-ranked player from the state.
Long’s visit is lined up for a big-time football game on campus. That Saturday, the Vols will host Georgia for a highly anticipated matchup on the gridiron. It will also be the annual ‘Checker Neyland’ game.

Along with her visit to Knoxville, Long is reportedly scheduled to take unofficial visits to Notre Dame on Oct. 18 and Kansas on Oct. 25. She also holds offers from the likes of Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Iowa, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Oregon, South Carolina, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA and USC among others.
She picked up her offer from Caldwell and Tennessee on May 3, 2025. In her announcement of the offer, she called the Lady Vols program ‘legendary.’
Tennessee currently holds no commitments in the 2026 or 2027 cycles. However, in Caldwell’s first season as head coach, she inked the No. 2 class in the country, according to ESPNW. This included a trio of McDonald’s All-Americans in Mia Pauldo, Deniya Prawl and Jaida Civil. She also landed top-100 prospects Mya Pauldo and Lauren Hurst.
