Tennessee football offensive lineman Wendell Moe Jr. is being considered one of the best transfers in the country. In On3’s list of the Preseason All-Transfer Portal Team, Moe made the cut as one of the two offensive guards to make the cut.

Moe comes into Tennessee as a redshirt junior who previously competed at Arizona. In 2023, as a redshirt freshman, he was named to the 2023 All-Pac-12 Second Team (Associated Press) and 2023 Midseason Freshman All-American Watch List (FWAA). That year, he started all 13 games at left guard while helping the Wildcats finish 20th nationally in total offense (448.0) and 18th in scoring (34.6).

In 2024, he played in 12 games with 11 starts, all at left guard. He also got some limited action on the right side. Moe did not allow a sack or a penalty and issued only one QB hit in a team-high 760 offensive snaps during the season.

Now, he’s projected to be one of Tennessee’s offensive guard starters for the 2025 campaign. He said during fall camp that he’s already comfortable with the offense and everything that goes into it.

“I got it down,” Moe said. “I feel like if you want to be a good player, you got to learn the offense pretty fast. I’ve really focused on it since I got here. I’m good with it.”

The other guard to make On3‘s list is Virginia Tech’s Tomas Rimac. Florida State’s Luke Petitbon was named the center, meaning Notre Dame transfer and possible Vols starter Sam Pendleton did not make the cut. Also being excluded as a projected piece of Tennessee’s team is cornerback Colton Hood from Colorado, quarterback Joey Aguilar from UCLA/App State and running back Star Thomas from Duke.

Tennessee also had no outgoing transfers make the list. This includes Nico Iamaleava, who departed in the spring window to head to UCLA. Instead, he was beaten out by Georgia transfer Carson Beck, who is now at Miami. Beck led UGA to a win over Iamaleava’s Vols last season in Athens, as well, outdueling Iamaleava in one of Beck’s best games of the season.

Other UT departures who were not included are wide receiver Squirrel White (Florida State), tight end Holden Staes (Indiana), defensive back Christian Harrison (Cincinnati) and defensive end Jayson Jenkins (Florida State).
