Four-star edge rusher Hezekian Harris is announcing his “final decision” on Monday. The Auburn commit will announce whether he’s sticking with the Tigers or flipping to either Tennessee or Florida after taking official visits to all three schools over the summer.
Harris has been committed to Auburn since July 2024, but Tennessee has continued recruiting the blue-chip commit over the last years. He twice visited Tennessee in the spring including for the 865 Live recruiting weekend and returned for an official visit in June.
While Harris also visited Florida in June, Tennessee is in the best position to flip the Huntsville native away from the home state Tigers.
Harris ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 100 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 13 edge rusher and the No. 7 player in the state of Alabama in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Rivals is similarly high on Harris, ranking Harris at the No. 147 player and No. 20 edge rusher in the country.

Edge rusher is a position of need for Tennessee football’s 2026 recruiting class and one of the reasons Harris is one of the Vols’ top remaining targets. The Vols hold a commitment from four-star edge Zach Groves and three-star edge CJ Edwards but Groves could end up at strongside defensive end in college.
Tennessee football is coming off a summer heater on the recruiting trail and made its biggest splay of the cycle last week, flipping five-star receiver Tristen Keys from LSU and propelling its class into the top 10 of the team recruiting rankings.
Harris is making his decision coming off the first weekend of the college football season where both Auburn and Tennessee earned season opening wins. The Tigers knocked off Baylor 38-24 in Waco while Tennessee defeated Syracuse 45-26 in Atlanta.
The Vols’ 2026 recruiting class currently contains 24 commitments and ranks No. 8 nationally and No. 5 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
