Tennessee took care of business against Syracuse in the season opener this past weekend in Atlanta, defeating the Orange by a score of 45-26 to kick off the 2025 slate.
The Vols jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and were up on the Orange 31-14 at halftime. Tennessee’s first-half offensive explosion harkened back to the early Josh Heupel days of blitzing an opponent off the bat and letting the run game and defense carry the team to the finish line.
It was the first of a 12-game regular-season slate for Heupel’s Volunteers, but a big win to get things going in the right direction off the bat. Even though it’s only been one true weekend of college football action, we’ve seen other teams struggle with lesser foes in chaotic situations. Tennessee was not in that group. The Vols were well prepared for the contest and executed the game plan that was set out for them.
On Tuesday night, Tennessee’s social media and video team dropped the cinematic recap of the Week 1 game against Syracuse. It’s similar to a highlight reel, but with more, well, cinematic qualities. The video shows Tennessee’s prep leading into the game, highlights from the contest, conversations during the halftime break, and more.
It’s a great way to get any UT fan fired up for the rest of the season after a strong win to start the engine.
