The archrival Bulldogs head into town on Saturday, marking the first SEC action for either team so far this season. No. 15 Tennessee has had a dreadful time against No. 6 Georgia over the last decade, its last win coming in 2016 in Athens. Will the Vols be able to exorcise the Bulldog demons and post a statement win in the conference?
Along with the on-field action, there are a number of intriguing Tennessee football odds heading into Saturday afternoon’s tilt.
Top sportsbooks with the best bets & odds for Tennessee vs Georgia
Let’s take a look at the best college football betting apps that have some of the bets to make on Saturday’s game ahead of Tennessee vs. Georgia.
Tennessee +4 points (-110 or better)
The Vols scored bucketloads of points in their first two games – 117 to be exact. And while historically they have not fared well offensively against Georgia – especially where the passing game is concerned – the Bulldogs have not exactly been lights out on defense. They struggled against Austin Peay and surrendered 207 yards to Marshall. With the Volunteers’ high-flying offense, expect Tennessee to keep it close.
Joey Aguilar over 220 passing yards (-102 or better)
The Bulldogs have not allowed over 200 passing yards to the Vols in their last three meetings. Saturday will be the day that trend ends. Transfer quarterback Joey Aguilar has looked every bit as advertised since coming over from App State, tossing 535 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions. The Bulldogs did bring back some playmakers in the secondary, but Aguilar should be able to pick his shots downfield.
Desean Bishop over 43 rushing yards (-119 or better)
Running back Desean Bishop was tasked with replacing NFL-bound Dylan Sampson, and he’s done his level best through the first two contests. We’ve yet to see a breakout game from him, but he’s hit the 43-yard rushing mark in each of his two starts so far.
Tennessee vs. Georgia under 50.5 points (-112 or better)
This game has all the trappings of an ol’ fashioned SEC slugfest. There may be a handful of explosive plays, but this one will be won in the trenches. Georgia allowed a combined 13 points to Austin Peay and Marshall, and while the Vols’ defense gave up significantly more points in their first two games, expect Heupel’s squad to have cleaned up the mistakes ahead of their first SEC clash of the year.
