Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and a trio of players met with the media on Monday afternoon in Knoxville as the Volunteers officially begin Week 4 of the college football season.  Tennessee will stay in Knoxville for a home non-conference matchup against UAB after suffering its first loss of the season on Saturday in an overtime game against Georgia.

The Vols will host UAB at 12:45 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon in Neyland Stadium.

While speaking to the media for nearly 13 minutes, Heupel hit on a number of different topics surrounding his team. He touched on key injuries that the Vols have been dealing with early in the season, Tennessee’s third-down defense, Caleb Herring and Chris Brazzell’s big starts to the season, not taking moral victories but finding things to build on, and much more.

Tennessee’s three student-athlete representatives on Monday included veteran tight end Miles Kitselman, starting offensive lineman Jesse Perry, and versatile linebacker Edwin Spillman.

Spillman has an interesting connection to the UAB game with his former high school coach, Trent Dilfer, leading the Blazers’ charge on the opposing sideline. He dove into that storyline during his four-minute interview on Monday.
