Last weekend was a massive recruiting opportunity for every sport on campus. Tennessee football’s game against Georgia set the stage for football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and other sports to host visits for top prospects across the country. Perhaps nobody took more advantage than Kim Caldwell and the Lady Vols basketball program, though.

On Saturday, five-star power forward and No. 2 recruit in the country Oliviyah Edwards committed to Tennessee. While that commitment rightfully took the majority of Lady Vols recruiting headlines, there was another big-time visitor on Rocky Top, as well.

Bri Crittendon, a five-star power forward who ranks as the No. 8 player in the class, according to 247composite rankings, took her official visit the same weekend. 2027 center Eve Long was also in attendance on an unofficial visit.

Crittendon is a 6-foot-3 forward out of Thornton, Colorado. If that hometown sounds familiar, it’s where Tennessee men’s basketball legend Dalton Knecht is from. However, Crittendon attends Riverdale Ridge while Knecht went to Prairie View.

“Crittendon is the featured offensive threat on the Colorado Lockdown club roster for good reason,” Brandon Clay of 247 wrote. “She has the size, skill, and versatility to be a tough matchup. Crittendon was willing to take on all challengers during the Select Events Summer Classic. She was also present at the USA Basketball 17-and-Under Trials in May and finished with numerous offers from some of the nation’s elite programs. Crittendon can continue to grow her physical strength to play through contact in the paint. The tools are all there for her to take the next step.”

Prior to her official visit, Crittendon had been on UT’s campus for an unofficial visit already. She got to Knoxville last August to get to know the new coaching staff prior to Caldwell and company’s impressive first year leading the historic Lady Vols program.

Other notable schools in the mix for Crittendon include Iowa, South Carolina, Michigan, Louisville and Notre Dame.
