
Tennessee football passed its test against UAB on Saturday afternoon inside Neyland Stadium. The Vols pushed their way to a 56-24 win despite getting outscored in the second half. After the game, Blazers head coach Trent Dilfer and quarterback Jalen Kitna met with the media.
Dilfer is in his third year as UAB’s head coach and is now at a 2-2 mark four games into the season. He went 3-9 a year ago and 4-8 in his first season. He is also a former long-time quarterback for the Buccaneers, Ravens, Seahawks, Browns and 49ers in the NFL.
Against Tennessee, Kitna threw for 364 yards and two touchdowns with one pick on 38-for-51 passing. He also recorded -18 rushing yards on four attempts.
Dilfer was asked about the stomping incident involving UT kicker Max Gilbert, his progression as head coach, a receiver not making the trip and more.
