
After a solid win over UAB, Tennessee football has its ranking in the Coaches Poll. The Vols remain ranked as the No. 15 team in the country, according to the poll.
UT has been ranked as the No. 15 team in the nation before and after the Georgia game, as well. Even after the loss, Tennessee did not drop any spots. The Vols remain in the position with a pivotal game against Mississippi State, who clocks in with the 29th-most votes, on deck for this weekend.
Tennessee’s ranking is the seventh-highest mark in the SEC. The Vols are settled in behind just No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 LSU, No. 7 Texas, No. 9 Texas A&M, No. 10 Oklahoma and No. 11 Ole Miss.

Next, Tennessee travels to play at Mississippi State. It will be the Vols’ first road game of the season after playing three at home and the season opener against Syracuse at a neutral site in Atlanta.
According to FanDuel, on the morning of Sept. 21, Tennessee is a 10.5-point favorite in the game. On the moneyline, you can get UT at -360 and MSU at +280.
So far, the money and bets are swarming to the Vols. According to FanDuel’s metrics, 64% of the money and 80% of bettors have picked Tennessee to cover the spread. At this point, UT is 3-1 against the spread on FanDuel. Mississippi State has covered in all four of its wins, as well.
Kickoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. ET in Starkville. The game will air on SEC Network and serve as the conference opener for the Bulldogs. Mississippi State is currently 4-0 with a good win over Arizona State and a trio of victories over weaker opponents.
Tennessee is 3-1 with one conference game under its belt. The Vols fell to Georgia 44-41 in overtime at home despite multiple chances of clinching a win late in the game.
