
Tennessee football opened as 10.5-point favorites in its SEC road opener against Mississippi State Sunday morning. But the betting line is moving significantly in the Bulldogs favor after 24 hours. The Vols are now just 7.5-point favorites over Mississippi State according to the DraftKings Sportsbook.
The over/under has not moved and is still set at 61.5. Tennessee money line is -350 while Mississippi State money line is +245. It is a slight deviation from where the money line opened— Tennessee (-360) and Mississippi State (+280).
Tennessee is 3-1 against the spread this season, covering in wins over Syracuse and ETSU as well as its lone loss against Georgia. The Vols failed to cover last week against UAB. The experts in the desert are expecting a high scoring affair and there’s good reason for them to think so. The over has hit in all four of Tennessee’s games this season.
Mississippi State is 4-0 against the spread this weekend, covering as favorites against Southern Miss, Alcorn State and Northern Illinois while winning outright as an underdog against Arizona State. The over has hit in one Mississippi State game this season while the over has hit just once.

Tennessee is off to a 3-1 (0-1 SEC) start to the season with lopsided non conference wins over Syracuse, ETSU and UAB. The Vols dropped their SEC opener in heartbreaking fashion, falling to Georgia 44-41 in an overtime thriller. Josh Heupel’s fifth Tennessee team is looking for its first SEC win of the season, a game they have to get if its going to return to the College Football Playoffs.
After winning just two games a season ago, Mississippi State is off to a 4-0 (0-0 SEC) start with non conference wins over Southern Miss, Arizona State, Alcorn State and Northern Illinois. While the Bulldogs are undoubtedly improved, the challenge gets vastly greater this week against Tennessee.
