Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel met with the media in Knoxville for about 10 minutes on Monday afternoon as the Volunteers prepare to take on Mississippi State in SEC action this Saturday afternoon. The Vols will square off with the Bulldogs at 4:15 p.m. ET at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville, MS.
Tennessee is coming off a bounce-back win against UAB this past Saturday to close down an early-season three-game home slate. The Vols are 3-1 on the season with their only loss coming in overtime to Georgia two weeks ago. Tennessee has also beaten Syracuse and East Tennessee State.
Mississippi State, meanwhile, has been a bit of a surprise here in the first third of the regular season. The Bulldogs are undefeated at 4-0 with a marquee win over then-No. 12 Arizona State in the second week of the season. Mississippi State also has wins over Southern Miss, Alcorn State, and Northern Illinois.
Heupel spoke to the media for a little over 10 minutes on Monday as he opened up the week. He spoke about the progress that Mississippi State has made this season, Chris Brazzell’s emergence, explosive plays, preparing for the road environment, and more.
Tennessee also had three players speak with the media on Monday: RB DeSean Bishop, LB Jeremiah Telander, and DL Bryson Eason.
