Tennessee Baseball Fall Scrimmage Notes And Stats: Sept. 25

Tennessee baseball is back at an active construction zone Lindsey Nelson Stadium as the Vols begin fall practice. Before heading west to play in Chattanooga and Nashville this fall, UT dealt with some rain but completed seven innings of work.

It’s important to note that this was not a super formal scrimmage. Pitchers are on pitch counts, and each pitcher has designated innings to throw. That meant that some didn’t finish their inning due to hitting their pitch count. It also meant Evan Hankins threw back-to-back innings for both teams to finish it out, not recording three outs in either frame.

In the field, the only error came from Ariel Antigua. He attempted to flip it to first, but the ball got away from him and advanced runners to second and third. The best play came from freshman Ethan Moore, who skipped a ball to first with his momentum going the wrong way to make a tough out.
