Tennessee Football is going with a non-traditional road look against Mississippi State in Starkville this weekend. With the Bulldogs wearing all-white home uniforms in a white-out environment, the Volunteers are bringing their signature shade of orange to Davis Wade Stadium.
According to Tennessee Football on X, the Vols will be going with the all-orange look this Saturday on the road. The uniform combination includes white helmets, orange jerseys, orange pants, and orange accessories.

This is the first time since the 2022 LSU matchup that Tennessee has not worn white jerseys in a true road game. The Vols wore Smokey Grey during that game.
Back in August, Mississippi State announced that its home game against Tennessee would honor the Bulldogs’ Snow Bowl team, which defeated Texas A&M during a snowstorm in the 2000 Independence Bowl. Fans are encouraged to wear white, and the team will be doing the same. Mississippi State’s uniforms include white helmets with a maroon facemask, white jerseys, and white pants.

Tennessee’s unique road uniforms this week mean that it’ll be back-to-back weeks with the all-orange threads for Josh Heupel’s Volunteers. Tennessee broke them out last weekend at home during a non-conference game against UAB. Every other week of the season had been the traditional orange-and-white look up to that point.
Here’s a look at what Tennessee’s uniform history has looked like so far this season:
- Week 1 (vs Syracuse in Atlanta): Orange-and-White
- Week 2 (vs ETSU in Knoxville): Orange-and-White
- Week 3 (vs Georgia in Knoxville): Orange-and-White
- Week 4 (vs UAB in Knoxville): All-Orange
- Week 4 (at Mississippi State in Starkville): All-Orange
Mississippi State (4-0, 0-0 SEC) will host No. 15 Tennessee (3-1, 0-1 SEC) at 4:15 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon in Starkville, MS. The Volunteers are currently a point favorite heading into the game.
