Last Saturday, Tennessee football got another supreme performance from quarterback Joey Aguilar in its 41-34 overtime win at Mississippi State. He completed 24-of-40 passes for 335 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions that were tipped up. He also ran for 21 yards, including the game-tying touchdown with little time remaining in regulation.

The result was a somewhat rare road win in SEC play for UT. Tennessee is now 8-9 under Josh Heupel. It also was a record-setting performance in this category for Aguilar.

No other quarterback under Heupel at Tennessee has thrown for more yards than the 335 Aguilar did in Starkville. The only other QB to get over the 300-yard mark was Hendon Hooker at 316 in the win over Kentucky in 2021.

His 24 completions were also the most in this category during a win. The next-best in a road SEC victory was 18 from Nico Iamaleava against Vanderbilt a year ago.
