Lady Vols basketball is making a late push for one of the best recruits in the country. According to Dushawn London, Tennessee is scheduled to host five-star forward Lola Lampley on an official visit on Oct. 30. This will be the last of a string of visits, including prior trips to Mississippi State and Ole Miss and future ones to LSU and South Carolina.

The involvement of the Lady Vols in her recruitment comes as a bit of a surprise. She released her top-five schools in February, listing Duke, Mississippi State, Florida State, NC State and UCLA. Despite the scheduled visit to Knoxville, she still hasn’t publicly announced an offer from Tennessee, either.

Lampley is a five-star, according to 247 composite ratings. She is the No. 17 recruit in the country, No. 6 power forward and No. 1 player out of Indiana. She plays for Lawrence Central in Indianapolis.

“Lampley is a major factor both inside and outside on the hardwood,” 247 director of women’s basketball scouting Brandon Clay wrote. “She is a capable scoring option, especially within 15 feet. Lampley, who was a member of the USA Basketball 17-and-Under team, has taken a major step forward in her game over the last 12 months. Her ability to serve in multiple roles as a scoring presence and a defensive stalwart makes her unique.”

Tennessee currently holds one commitment in the 2026 class. During her official visit, No. 2 overall recruit on ESPNW, Oliviyah Edwards, committed to the Lady Vols.

UT has missed out on the commitment of targets Jacy Abii and Addison Bjorn, but is in good standing for other top recruits in the country for the ’26 cycle. This includes Trinity Jones, Bri Crittendon, Bella Flemings, Gabby Minus and others. This weekend, Flemings will be in town for her official visit.

Tennessee is also coming an extremely strong 2025 cycle in Kim Caldwell’s first year as head coach. She signed five players, including three McDonald’s All-Americans, for the No. 2 class.
