Tennessee football is back in action Saturday afternoon as they face Arkansas in a SEC showdown at Neyland Stadium. Dave Neal, Fozzy Whittaker and Morgan Uber are on the call for the SEC Network. Kickoff is at 4:15 p.m. ET.
It’s the Vols’ fourth game in the afternoon slot this season including matchups against ETSU, Georgia and Mississippi State. Tennessee’s matchups against Syracuse and UAB were both noon ET kickoffs. It’s the second game this season that the Neal, Whittaker and Uber crew has called. They were in Starkville two weeks ago for Tennessee’s overtime win at Mississippi State.
With Arkansas’ struggles in the month of September, this matchup is not one of the SEC’s largest this week. Auburn hosts Georgia in the ABC primetime slot while Texas-Oklahoma resumes its rivalry at the Texas State Fair at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC. Missouri hosts Alabama in a top 15 matchup at noon ET on ABC.
Florida-Texas A&M and South Carolina-LSU are the two other SEC games that were given the night slot over Tennessee’s home matchup with Arkansas.
Tennessee is off to a 4-1 (1-1 SEC) start to the season with power five wins over Syracuse and Mississippi State and a home loss against Georgia. Both of the Vols’ first two SEC games have gone to overtime with Tennessee falling against Georgia and earning a key road win in Starkville.
