Tennessee football is set to play Arkansas tomorrow as it returns to Neyland Stadium. The Vols and Razorbacks will square off in Knoxville at 4:15 p.m. ET with the game airing on SEC Network.

Before kick-off, I dove into the numbers, with the help of UT’s game notes, to get a better look at what to expect in the game.

Here are three numbers to keep in mind as you’re watching the game.

No team in the FBS is scoring over 50 points per game, except for Tennessee. Through five games, the Vols have averaged 51 points per contest.

This also marks a first in program history. For the first time, Tennessee has scored over 40 points in five straight games. UT’s total of 255 points is the most it has scored through five games in the modern era.

The scoring production has featured 33 touchdowns. This includes 29 on offense and four on defense. Colton Hood leads the defense with two scores so far.

21

Tennessee football has recorded 21 sacks through five games this year. This is tied with Oklahoma for the most in the SEC and is second across the FBS. The Sooners got a significant boost in their number, as well, with nine against Auburn alone.

The leader for the Vols is Joshua Josephs. The LEO has four to go with 22 tackles. He also has forced two fumbles and scooped up a fumble for a touchdown at Mississippi State. Forcing the fumble he recovered was Tyre West on a sack. West has three on the year to tie him with Dominic Bailey and Caleb Herring for second on the team.

In total, 12 players on the team have recorded at least half a sack. This is eight defensive linemen, two linebackers and two defensive backs.

While the Tennessee defense has been incredible at slinging down quarterbacks, the Vols’ offensive line has done a great job of protecting Joey Aguilar. On the year, UT has allowed just four sacks. This is tied with Vanderbilt and Ole Miss for the fewest in the SEC and is the ninth-best mark in the country.

Aguilar has only been sacked three times, as well. One of them was against Jake Merklinger in garbage time with backups in the game.

Aguilar has also done a great job of limiting the loss of yardage on these plays. When sacked, it’s typically for just a short loss, as he does a good job of climbing up the pocket.
