Tennessee Basketball Makes Top Five For Blue-Chip Prep Shooting Guard

Four-star shooting guard Jasiah Jervis released a top group including Tennessee basketball on Thursday afternoon. The Vols joined Illinois, Michigan State, NC State and Pitt in the top group for Jervis.

The blue-chip guard also plans on announcing his commitment on Nov. 5 following his run of official visits.

Jervis has taken official visits to NC State, Michigan State and Pitt already this fall. He’s officially visiting Illinois this weekend and Tennessee next weekend when the Vols host Duke in a preseason exhibition game.

The 6-foot-4 shooting guard previously had Florida, Oregon and Texas in his top group before cutting them from consideration.

It’s part of a major recruiting weekend for Tennessee basketball. The Vols are hosting five-star point guard Deron Rippey Jr, five-star power forward Christian Collins and Jervis all on official visits that weekend as part of a massive weekend.

Jervis is Tennessee’s top shooting guard prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle. He ranks as a four-star recruit and the No. 35 player in the country according to the 247sports composite rankings. Jervis also ranks as the No. 2 shooting guard in the country. The Bronx native, ranking as the No. 2 player in the state of New York

Tennessee basketball has three total commits in the 2026 recruiting class, landing all three in the last three weeks. Rick Barnes and his staff have landed commits from four-star wing Ralph Scott, four-star wing Manny Green and three-star point guard Marquis Clark.

The Vols are still pursuing a number of targets in the 2026 cycle including five-star point guards Miles Sadler and Deron Rippey Jr and five-star power forward Christian Collins. Sadler officially visited Tennessee last month while Rippey and Collins are visiting with Jervis.

Tennessee’s three-commit recruiting class currently ranks No. 8 nationally and No. 3 in the SEC according to the 247sports team rankings.
