With under 24 hours until Tennessee football meets Alabama on the gridiron, the Vols have released their list of team captains for the game in Knoxville. UT does captains on a game-by-game basis, but often a lot of the picks repeat throughout the season.
This time, each captain has already served as one this season. The most nods have gone to long snapper Bennett Brady. Representing the special teams unit, he has been a captain in five of seven games this season. It’s his first year as the starting long snapper after he backed up Matthew Salansky to begin his tenure with UT.
For the third time, tight end Miles Kitselman is getting the honor. He will be returning to Tuscaloosa for the first time since transferring in to Tennessee a year ago. He is 1-0 against Alabama as a Vol, though, with UT winning the game last season. So far this year, Kistelman has recorded 19 catches for 204 yards and two touchdowns this year.
With his second nod, Arion Carter is back as a captain. The linebacker position has seen Carter, Jeremiah Telander Edwin Spillman and Ben Bolton all be captains. Telander is tied with Carter with two nods. Carter has already produced 57 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble this year.
The final captain designation goes to Jaxson Moi. This is his second-straight week in the role. He started in the opener against Syracuse, but went down with an early injury. He made his return against Mississippi State and has been a big piece of the defensive line since.
