In Tennessee football’s 37-20 loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa, it consistently shuffled the offensive line for different possessions. In total, it was eight different linemen getting snaps, with each position seeing two different players get snaps.

At left tackle, the change was simply because Lance Heard was briefly injured. Bennett Warren entered in his place before getting subbed back out for Heard.

On the interior, Wendell Moe Jr. started at right guard, but also played a good bit of left guard. Shamurad Umarov played 50 snaps at left guard, but was occasionally sent to the bench for Moe to slide over and starting right tackle Jesse Perry to slide inside to right guard. In his place at tackle, freshman David Sanders Jr. came off the bench and played well.

At center, Sam Pendleton got the start and snapped all but three balls. William Satterwhite replaced him for the trio of plays. It’s unclear if there was a brief injury or if UT just wanted to mix things up.
