Kim Caldwell is gearing up for her second season atop the Lady Vols basketball program. Ahead of the season filled with high expectations, she met with the press during local media day to give her thoughts on the team. Caldwell was asked about the scrimmage vs. North Carolina, newcomers, Janiah Barker and more.

In year one, Caldwell steered Tennessee to a perfect record in out-of-conference play, despite some decent tests. In the SEC slate, she went 8-8 in the regular season. However, in the midst of the SEC schedule, she managed to knock off UConn, which would go on to win the national championship.

In the postseason, she lost to Vanderbilt in the SEC Tournament before being named a 5-seed in March Madness. In Columbus, Ohio, she defeated USF before upsetting Ohio State to get the program back to the Sweet 16.

This off-season, Caldwell signed the No. 1 transfer class, featuring Janiah Barker, Jersey Wolfenbarger and Nya Robertson, and the No. 2 high school recruiting class, featuring five top-100 recruits and three McDonald’s All-Americans.
