As Tennessee football looks to keep building its momentum on the recruiting trail into the 2027 class, the Vols made the cut as a finalist for one of the top players in the cycle. Raylaun Henry, a four-star cornerback, announced he will make his choice on Nov. 15. He’ll choose between UT, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Penn State and Indiana.
Henry ranks as the No. 18 overall player in the 2027 cycle, according to 247. He is the No. 3 corner in the class and the top-ranked player out of Maryland. He stars for St. Frances Academy in Baltimore. That’s the same school that current UT starting safety Edrees Farooq played for.
This past weekend, Henry got to see Tennessee in person, but from an opponent’s perspective. He was in Tuscaloosa as a visitor for Alabama during the Third Saturday in October. He’s also taken visits to Ohio State, Texas A&M and Indiana. He has not publicly announced any recent trips to see Tennessee or Penn State.

This comes after Tennessee got some good news on the trail in the 2027 cycle this past week, as well. Four-star athlete Myson Johnson-Cook released his top list of schools, which included the Vols alongside Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, Alabama, Miami, Missouri and Illinois.
Johnson-Cook ranks as the No. 35 player in the 2027 class, according to 247 composite. He is the No. 2 athlete in the cycle, although 247 does list him as a running back, as well. It’s unclear at the moment what position Tennessee is recruiting him at. Along with his talent as a running back, he also plays linebacker.
UT currently holds two commitments in the class. One is legacy linebacker, JP Peace, grandson of Phillip Fulmer and son of Robert Peace. The other is cornerback Kamauri Whitfield. Both are three-star prospects.
Tennessee is also in the mix for top-10 recruit Cooper Witten. He is a linebacker prospect out of Texas and the son of former Vol star Jason Witten. Another name to keep a close eye on is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges out of Baylor School in Chattanooga.
