Of all the teams across college football, just one has been more-viewed on television than Tennessee to this point in the season. According to a report from On3, the Vols have reeled in an average of 7.8 million viewers per game — the second-most in the country.
In first place is Alabama, which Tennessee just played last weekend. The Tide have drawn in 7.92 million viewers per game to just edge out UT. Third place behind the Vols is Georgia, which Tennessee lost to earlier this year, at 7.59 million.
It’s not just the top three that are SEC programs, either. The entire top six is filled with teams in the conference. Fourth goes to Texas (6.88 million), then Oklahoma (6.29 million) and then LSU (6.14 million). The first non-SEC team is Ohio State in seventh at 6.11 million.
The rest of the top 10 is Miami in eighth at 5.6 million, Florida in ninth at 5.15 million and Notre Dame in 10th at 4.99 million.

More From RTI: Three Numbers to Know When Tennessee Football Plays Kentucky
Tennessee’s game against Georgia this year is the second-most viewed game of the season so far. It averaged 12.6 million viewers throughout the game with a peak of 15.9 million. The only game it sits behind is Texas-Ohio State in the season opener.
This past week, the Vols also helped reel in a massive audience. For the Third Saturday in October, there was a viewership of 8.0 million on average and a peak of 9.1 million. It was the week’s most-watched primetime game and the second-most watched on the entire slate behind Georgia and Ole Miss.
This week, the Vols are headed to Lexington to play Kentucky. The Wildcats don’t have much pull in ratings on the football field, but a strong contingent of Tennessee fans should help raise the number to keep UT toward the top of the list.
