Tennessee baseball has quickly made a move to find its new head coach. The Vols are hiring Josh Elander as their newest head coach, the university announced Saturday. Danny White said Wednesday that Elander would be a candidate in a national search. That search lasted just 72 hours with White deciding the in-house move was the right move.
Elander had spent the last eight years on Vitello’s staff at Tennessee including the last three seasons as the associate head coach.
The reaction from Tennessee fans online has been almost completely positive. Elander is extremely popular with former players and fans. Both have reacted positively as have national media members assessing the hire.
