In the 2026 cycle, Tennessee football pulled off the flip of five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys from LSU. The Vols now hold a stacked receiver class, including Keys, who ranks as the No. 1 player at the position and No. 4 overall in the class, via 247. Now, Tennessee is in a position to pair him up with the best receiver in the 2027 class, as well, Monshun Sales.
Sales has whittled down his list to 12 schools, according to Rivals. He’ll be picking between the Vols, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Miami, Oregon, Missouri, Texas A&M, Michigan, Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Indiana. While there is a long way to go until Sales announces his commitment, making this cut is obviously a crucial step in winning the race for him.
Sales is the No. 5 overall player in the 2027 class, according to 247. Out of Indianapolis, Indiana, he is the top-ranked player from the state and considered the best receiver in the cycle. He stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 195 pounds in his junior year of high school at Lawrence North.

“Hulking wide receiver with game-breaking potential given his size and speed,” 247 director of scouting Andrew Ivins wrote. “Looks the part with a muscled-up frame that appears to stretch just over 6-foot-4. Isn’t the most technically advanced route runner at this stage, but has shown the ability to sink his hips and make dynamic cuts in passing tournaments. Spent much of sophomore season challenging defenses vertically from an outside posting and should be able to do the same thing on Saturdays…”
UT currently holds two commitments in the class. One is legacy linebacker, JP Peace, grandson of Phillip Fulmer and son of Robert Peace. The other is cornerback Kamauri Whitfield. Both are three-star prospects.
Tennessee is also in the mix for top-10 recruit Cooper Witten. He is a linebacker prospect out of Texas and the son of former Vol star Jason Witten. Another name to keep a close eye on is five-star running back David Gabriel Georges out of Baylor School in Chattanooga.
