Tennessee Football got back in the winning column on Saturday night in Lexington with a big 56-34 win over the Kentucky Wildcats. The Vols jumped on the board with a 21-point first quarter, fended off a Kentucky run in the second quarter, and ran away with things in the third and fourth quarters. Tennessee scored two or more touchdowns in each of the first three quarters to get the high-scoring win.
UT quarterback Joey Aguilar was a big reason for the Vols’ success on Saturday night. He finished the game with 396 passing yards and three touchdowns, with all three of his top receivers going over the 100-yard mark during the game.
The Vols’ defense still has work to do and things to fix, but a big play early in the game came when safety Edrees Farooq took a tipped pass to the endzone for a pick six. It was the first touchdown of his career.
After the game, Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel and four players met with the media to discuss their reactions to the game.
