With just a day until Tennessee football meets Oklahoma on the gridiron, the Vols have released their list of team captains for the game in Knoxville. UT does captains on a game-by-game basis, but often a lot of the picks repeat throughout the season.
This time, all four are repeats. This includes long snapper Bennett Brady, edge rusher Joshua Josephs, tight end Miles Kitselman and linebacker Jeremiah Telander.
Brady has served as a captain in all but two games. As the special teams representative, he’s stepped into the leadership role in place of Matthew Salansky. Brady has played his entire career at UT and is in his first season as a starter.
Josephs is a captain for the second time this season. His first was in the overtime loss to Georgia to begin SEC play. He has broken out as a defensive star for the Vols at the LEO position and is starting to be considered as a possible first-round draft pick in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.
Kitselman is a captain for the fourth time this year and the second time in three weeks. Most recently, he was a captain for the Vols’ trip to Tuscaloosa to play Alabama, his former school. He’s started every game at tight end so far and has played the majority of snaps at the position.
The final captain is Jeremiah Telander, who is a captain for the fourth time, as well. He’s started every game this year and saw an increased workload this past week with his starting linebacker partner, Arion Carter, down with injury. Carter is listed as questionable for this matchup. It is the second week in a row that Telander will be a captain.
