Tennessee football is one of the nine remaining programs still in the hunt to land the talents of one of the best wide receivers in the 2027 class. Quentin Hale, a four-star pass catcher, featured the Vols alongside USC, Miami, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Texas A&M, according to a report from Hayes Fawcett.

Hale, standing at 6-foot-3 in his junior season, is ranked as the No. 50 player in the cycle via 247 composite rankings. He is also the No. 9 wide receiver and No. 6 player out of California. He plays for Cathedral out of Los Angeles.

“Hale is one of the premier receivers in the West, regardless of class,” 247’s Greg Biggins wrote. “He has a long, athletic 6-3 frame and is extremely fluid and smooth in how he moves. He’s coming off a very productive sophomore year and has the kind of physical traits you’re looking for in a next level pass catcher. He has high level body control, is an advanced route runner and is a natural pass catcher. He tracks the football down the field extremely well and does a really nice job adjusting to the ball in the air and winning jump balls…”

The Vols recently landed a near-top-100 recruit in the 2027 class in offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He is Tennessee’s third and highest-ranked commitment to the 2027 class. He sits alongside three-star linebacker JP Peace, who committed back in June, and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, who committed in mid-October.

Uwaifo’s commitment also sent Tennessee a good bit up the early recruiting rankings, with the Vols moving from No. 21 to No. 15 in 247’s team rankings.

As far as wide receivers in the 2027 class, Tennessee has been named a top candidate for the likes of in-state five-star Kesean Bowman, four-star Osani Gayles and top-ranked receiver Monshun Sales.
