The 2025-2026 college basketball season is officially underway, bringing all the chaos, excitement, and unpredictability that fans have come to know and love. Teams will compete and improve throughout the season with the obvious goal of winning the NCAA Tournament next spring. The Florida Gators are the reigning SEC and NCAA Champions.
With a new-look roster after a good bit of turnover throughout the offseason, Rick Barnes’ Tennessee Volunteers are in a solid position to compete this season. The Vols land in the back half of the AP Top 25 rankings, but are widely considered as one of six teams from the SEC with a realistic chance to win the conference this year. We’ll have to see how Barnes’ new players mesh together, but there’s plenty of talent on Rocky Top to push for a third-straight Elite Eight run.
