Tennessee football is continuing to build connections in the 2027 class as the cycle increases in priority on the trail. Josh Heupel and the Vols may not have to look too far for talent, either. The class features incredible in-state talent, including four-star wide receiver Lawrence Britt, who named UT a top school.
He listed Tennessee alongside Missouri, Miami, Vanderbilt, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Georgia, Oregon and Alabama in his top 10, according to Hayes Fawcett.
Britt ranks as the No. 52 player in the country, according to 247. He is the No. 4 athlete and No. 5 player in the Volunteer State out of Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis. He stands at 6-foot-0.5 and 172 pounds, via 247.
Of 2027 recruits out of Tennessee, he sits only behind five-star running back David Gabriel Georges, five-star wide receiver Kesean Bowman, four-star linebacker Omarii Sanders and four-star Ole Miss defensive line commit Jamarkus Pittman. The Vols are in the running for Gabriel Georges, Bowman and Sanders.

Tennessee also currently holds the commitment of four-star offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo, who ranks as the No. 6 player in the state. He is Tennessee’s third and highest-ranked commitment to the 2027 class. He sits alongside three-star linebacker JP Peace, who committed back in June, and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, who committed in mid-October.
Uwaifo’s commitment also sent Tennessee a good bit up the early recruiting rankings, with the Vols moving from No. 21 to No. 15 in 247’s team rankings.
As far as wide receivers in the 2027 class, Tennessee has been named a top candidate for the likes of in-state five-star Bowman, four-star Osani Gayles, four-star Quentin Hale and top-ranked receiver Monshun Sales.
