Game three of Tennessee baseball’s Orange-and-White Fall World Series will no longer be at Covenant Health Park. The Tennessee Smokies announced that they would no longer host the game due to projected cold weather in the area.
The game will now be played at Lindsey Nelson Stadium at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday afternoon. It was originally scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at Covenant Health Park but the lights are not functional at Lindsey Nelson Stadium this fall meaning they have to get the game in before the sun sets.
A big reason the Smokies had to cancel the game is because One Knox soccer won its semifinals match and will now host a championship game at First Covenant Park next week. With the cold weather, the Smokies did not want to jeopardize the playing surface by changing it to a baseball field and back to a soccer field this week.

The fall finale will not be open to the public due to the ongoing construction at Lindsey Nelson Stadium as the change is an unfortunate break for fans hoping to get a look at Josh Elander’s first Tennessee squad.
Tennessee’s two teams split the first two games of the weekend intrasquad scrimmage leading to a decisive final scrimmage. The Orange team won game one 6-0 on Friday night before the White team took game two 6-4 on Saturday afternoon.
While game three of the Orange-and-White Fall World Series is not open to the public, it is open to the media. Stay tuned to Rocky Top Insider for live updates and stats as well as first-year head coach Josh Elander’s postgame press conference.
