One of Tennessee football’s top commits, Legend Bey, has officially decided to back off his pledge. After a recent visit to Ohio State, he flipped to the Buckeyes on Monday afternoon. Bey, a four-star athlete who projects to play wide receiver at the next level, was at Ohio State for the Buckeyes’ win over Penn State.
Bey initially committed to the Vols on June 28, 2025. This was after taking official visits to UT, West Virginia, Duke and Texas A&M. According to 247, his recent visit to Ohio State was also an official visit.
Bey ranks as a four-star on 247 composite and is the No. 361 player in the class. This makes him the No. 24 athlete and No. 47 player out of the state of Texas. He currently plays for North Forney High School in Forney, Texas.
While he was being recruited by Kelsey Pope at Tennessee and projects to play wide receiver, he’s starred at quarterback for his high school. As a junior, he claimed Texas District 10-6A Offensive MVP for his efforts.
With a lack of size, Bey would have likely played in the slot at UT. He stands at 5-foot-10.5 and weighs 175 pounds, according to 247. He’s also a speedy athlete, running track for his school.

Tennessee has three other commitments at the moment that project as wide receivers in Knoxville. The top of the list is Tristen Keys, a five-star who is considered the No. 1-ranked receiver in the entire class. The Vols flipped him away from LSU to land his talents.
Another athlete who will at least start at receiver is Salesi Moa. He was formerly considered a five-star on 247 composite, but has slipped just outside of the status in the ranking update as the No. 42 player in the class. He has two-way potential that UT plans to take a look at.
The final receiver is Tyreek King out of Knoxville Catholic, just down the road from campus. He is a slot receiver, as well, who could carve out a role early as a four-star recruit.
Overall, the class currently holds 23 commitments and ranked No. 4 in the country before the decommitment, according to 247’s class rankings.
