The sports betting scene in Missouri has undergone significant changes over the years. However, in November 2024, voters approved Amendment 2. This approval meant that sports betting in Missouri is now legal. That vote made both online and in-person sports wagering legal in the state. However, it has not started yet.
The Missouri Gaming Commission has set December 1, 2025, as the launch date. Until that date, this commission is working to grant licenses to operators who will debut in the state. The Missouri Gaming Commission can issue up to 14 mobile sports betting licenses. They also have the authority to issue 19 retail sports betting licenses in the state.
Confirmed Operators and Their Expected Promos
The Missouri Gaming Commission has granted nine temporary online sportsbook licenses ahead of the December 1, 2025, launch. There are two types of licenses.
- An untethered license allows a sportsbook to operate in Missouri without a partner.
- A tethered license requires a partnership with a casino or a professional sports team in the state.
DraftKings and Circa Sports were awarded the two untethered licenses. DraftKings has already hinted at a “Bet $5, Get $300 in Bonus Bets” offer for new users in Missouri. Circa Sports has not announced its promo yet, but it is known for strong odds and higher betting limits.
Seven other sportsbooks received tethered licenses.
- FanDuel partnered with St. Louis CITY SC.
- Fanatics Sportsbook partnered with Boyd Gaming, which owns Ameristar casinos.
- BetMGM gained access through Century Casinos.
- Bet365 partnered with the St. Louis Cardinals.
- Underdog gained entry through the Kansas City Royals.
- Caesars Sportsbook is covered through Caesars Entertainment casinos.
- ESPN BET entered through PENN Entertainment casinos.
Most of these operators are expected to offer simple “Bet and Get” welcome bonuses when betting begins.
- FanDuel is expected to offer a “Bet $5, Get $200 or $300” promotion, similar to those in other states.
- BetMGM, bet365, Fanatics, and ESPN BET are also expected to release first-bet insurance or bonus bet offers at launch.
All nine sportsbooks are scheduled to go live on December 1, 2025.
