On Nov. 21, class of 2027 four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife will announce his commitment. He is set to choose between Tennessee football, Auburn, Texas A&M and Georgia Tech.

On Thursday morning, just over a week out from his decision date, the Vols were named the team to beat by a recruiting expert. Rivals’ Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for Fife to land at Tennessee. However, earlier in the month, Rivals’ Justin Wells predicted him to land at Texas A&M.

Fife is considered the No. 269 player in the 2027 class, according to 247 composite rankings. He is the No. 31 defensive lineman and No. 32 player out of the state of Georgia. He currently plays for Chattooga in Summerville, Georgia.

Fife’s primary recruiter is Rodney Garner. The legendary defensive line coach has been at Tennessee since Josh Heupel got to Knoxville in 2021. He’s been known for his ability to reel in top recruiting targets and develop them into NFL talents throughout his career.

The Vols recently landed a near-top-100 recruit in the 2027 class in offensive lineman Princeton Uwaifo. He is Tennessee’s third and highest-ranked commitment to the 2027 class. He sits alongside three-star linebacker JP Peace, who committed back in June, and three-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield, who committed in mid-October.

Uwaifo’s commitment also sent Tennessee a good bit up the early recruiting rankings, with the Vols moving to No. 16 in 247’s team rankings.

In the 2026 class, which is not quite wrapped up just yet, Tennessee landed four-star defensive lineman Dereon Albert and three-stars Kedric Golston and Darryl Rivers. The Vols also hold commitments from a group of elite edge rushers in the cycle.

UT holds 23 commitments in the class, good for the No. 4 group in the cycle, according to 247.
