
On Saturday evening, Tennessee football handled business against New Mexico State inside Neyland Stadium. The Vols won the game 42-9 despite a somewhat slow start to the game. Afterward, NMSU head coach Tony Sanchez met with the media to give his thoughts.
New Mexico State surrendered three straight touchdowns to open the game, but knocked in a field goal just ahead of the half to cut it to 21-3. However, the Aggies allowed three unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter for the game to fully turn in favor of Tennessee.
The Vols did not score in the fourth quarter with backups on the field and allowed a late touchdown to the Aggies. New Mexico State missed the extra-point attempt, though.
