One of Lady Vols basketball’s top remaining targets, Bri Crittendon, isn’t headed to Knoxville. Instead, the five-star prospect picked Texas on Wednesday night.

Crittendon was deciding between Tennessee and the Longhorns, along with Colorado, Oregon, Washington and TCU.

Crittendon took her official visit to see the Lady Vols in early September. This aligned with Tennessee football’s game against Georgia and the same time five-star Oliviyah Edwards was in Knoxville. Edwards committed that Saturday while in town and has since signed.

She is considered the No. 8 player in the country, via 247 composite rankings. Crittendon is a 6-foot-3 forward out of Thornton, Colorado. If that hometown sounds familiar, it’s where Tennessee men’s basketball legend Dalton Knecht is from. However, Crittendon attends Riverdale Ridge while Knecht went to Prairie View.

“Crittendon is the featured offensive threat on the Colorado Lockdown club roster for good reason,” Brandon Clay of 247 wrote. “She has the size, skill, and versatility to be a tough matchup. Crittendon was willing to take on all challengers during the Select Events Summer Classic. She was also present at the USA Basketball 17-and-Under Trials in May and finished with numerous offers from some of the nation’s elite programs. Crittendon can continue to grow her physical strength to play through contact in the paint. The tools are all there for her to take the next step.”

Prior to her official visit, Crittendon had been on UT’s campus for an unofficial visit already. She got to Knoxville last August to get to know the new coaching staff prior to Kim Caldwell and company’s impressive first year leading the historic Lady Vols program.

The Lady Vols hold a pair of commitments in the 2026 class, both of which have signed. Along with Edwards, four-star Gabby Minus also picked Tennessee over numerous top programs.
