Perhaps the top recruiting target on the board for Tennessee football in the 2027 class, in-state running back David Gabriel Georges, put up one of the best stat lines you’ll ever see on Friday night. In Baylor School’s 56-35 semifinal playoff win over McCallie, he recorded 32 rushes for 431 yards and seven touchdowns, according to MaxPreps.
This unbelievable game featured an 84-yard touchdown rush late in the game to all but finalize the dominant win over Baylor’s rival. His touchdowns included rushes of that 84-yarder as well as 32, 17, seven, five and a pair from one yard out.
Gabriel Georgies is considered a five-star prospect on 247 composite as he rounds out his junior season. He is the No. 14 recruit in the nation and the No. 2 running back. He is ranked as the No. 1 player in the state, as well.
Strong run from David Gabriel-Georges to extend the Baylor School lead 🏈💪

More From RTI: Tennessee Football Lands Commitment From 2027 Four-Star Defensive Lineman
While Gabriel Georges currently plays for Baylor School in Chattanooga, he’s not originally from Tennessee. He’s actually from well up north, hailing from Quebec. While there may not be the ties to UT of someone who was born and raised in the state, the proximity to campus could certainly still be an ace up Josh Heupel’s sleeve.
Heupel and company join just about the entire country in the race for his talents, though. The two schools with the most buzz to land him seem to be Tennessee and Ohio State at the moment. However, there is likely a bit to go before he makes his final decision.
Due to the proximity, Gabriel Georges has made his way to Knoxville a handful of times so far. This included a trip to Neyland Stadium for the team’s loss to Oklahoma just a few weeks ago. Despite ending up on the wrong end of the scoreboard, the game has left a positive impression on plenty of recruits.
He’s also made it to town for the win over Arkansas this season, multiple times in the preseason and for multiple game day visits during the 2024 season that saw the Vols earn a spot in the College Football Playoffs.
